THE'Eurovision Song Contest (#ESC) is a musical event born in 1956 on the proposal of Sergio Pugliese (which takes as a reference the Sanremo Festival) and is an event organized byEuropean Broadcasting Union. The competition has been broadcast every year since its inauguration and is one of the Television programs most long-lived in the world and is also the most popular non-sporting event with a target audience of hundreds of millions of viewers each year.
Since 2000 the competition has also been broadcast via the internet in streaming and from 2016 also on the official channel YouTube Eurovision (link), thus allowing the viewing of the event in 140 countries and fully achieving the initial objective of the event, namely that of unite the peoples is promote culture from different countries to integrate them together.
The contest is organized by the nation that wins the event the year before, and the winner is nominated by the votes of one technical jury and a popular one, a peculiar characteristic is that the jury of each nation cannot vote for itself or support the singers it represents, thus making the competition more alive, compelling and exciting to the end.
THE'2016 edition took place in Stockholm (Sweden) and was presented by Måns Zelmerlöw (2015 winner) is Petra Mede (TV host, comedian and dancer Swedish).
There winning nation (among several controversies) it was Ukraine that saw its representative Jamala execute the very busy text of the song “1944” (link) concerning the painful past of the persecution and deportation of Tartars in Ukraine.
Could there be no surprises? Of course not!
The mood of the contest has been focused on look generally sober (except in some cases). For men, most have opted for one casual style (t-shirt, jacket, trousers / jeans) with "all black" or "black & white" colors. For women, the recurring color was "gold or peach".
Separate speech must be made for Justin Timberlake the special guest of the evening (always very elegant) which he performed on stage during the final stage of voting by presenting his last song “Can't Stop The Feeling!”.
But what were the "Best Look & Performance“?
- The prize "Best Coreografy"Should certainly be recognized in Russian “Sergey Lazarev"(The super favorite of the eve and which received the most votes from the world popular jury), its performance was amazing (link);
- The prize "Best Female Look"Goes to the most elegant “Gabriela Gunčíková"Represented in the Czech Republic, her white dress with a low chignon that at the end of the song she dissolved with a sweep leaving everyone amazed (link);
- The prize "Best Text Song" it goes Sanja Vučić (link) Serbian singer who brought a very busy text against violence against women, an autobiographical text that he interpreted with great emotion;
- The prize "Best Sexy Look"Goes to the Armenian competitor “Iveta Mukuchyan” (link) that with its black body-style dress has maintained high attention until the end of the performances;
- The prize "Best Beauty"Goes without a doubt to the Austrian, who sang in French, Zoe (link) that with its peach-colored dress with floral hints, Swarovski crown and hair in the wind has embodied a modern Cinderella;
- The prize "Best Male Look"Goes to the landlord"Frans"In perfect style Justin Bibier which at the same time recalls a very young Leonardo Di Caprio;
- The prize "Best Curiosity”Goes to the representative of Malta “Ira Losco” (link) who tried to hide her sweet roundness due to pregnancy in a dress with a gold-colored slit;
- The prize "Best Sounds Song"Goes to Dutch"Douwe Bob” (link) his country style tune is really catchy;
- The prize "Best Fantasy Look"Goes to the representative of Germany “Jamie-Lee” (link) that his 100% vegan dress in cartoon / cosplayer style;
- The prize "Best Dress"Goes to the Croatian “Nina Kraljić” (link) with a double dress, the first in a "geisha kimono" style and the second in a vestal style, a gimmick that left its mark.
As for ours Francesca Michielin (link) his performance was really touching. The first part of the text was sung in Italian to then leave the refrain of the second to English, our representative barely held back the tears due to the strong emotion of realizing her dream since she was a child.
